    Deciding on support?

    What Behavior Support Costs

Cost is one of the first questions parents ask, and one of the hardest to get a straight answer to. Here is exactly how it works at The Haven Family Center, and what to ask any provider you are considering.

    My fees

    • Free 15-minute consultation. No cost, no obligation. You and I talk about what is hard right now and whether I am the right fit.
    • $150 for a 60-minute individual session. That is the standard rate for direct work with your child or young adult.
    • Parent and caregiver coaching sessions are billed at the same rate.
    • You receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you begin, as required by the No Surprises Act.

    Why private pay

Haven is a private pay, out-of-network practice. That means your plan is guided by your child's needs rather than by authorization limits, session caps, or billing codes. There is no insurance paper trail and no third party deciding when support ends.

    How families budget for it

    • Start with a clear goal and a realistic frequency. Weekly is common; some families start every other week.
    • Ask about a short initial block (for example, six to eight sessions) with a review point built in.
    • Front-load caregiver coaching. Skills you practice at home extend the value of every session.
    • Check whether an HSA or FSA can be used for behavior analytic services.

Questions to ask any provider about cost

    • What is the hourly rate, and what exactly is included in an hour?
    • Is assessment billed separately? How many hours does it usually take?
    • Are report writing, school or provider calls, and travel billed?
    • What is the cancellation policy?
    • How often will we review progress and decide whether to continue?

    What to do next

If you want a number specific to your family, book the free 15-minute consultation. You will leave the call knowing what a realistic plan would look like and what it would cost, whether or not you work with me.
